New Milk as Israel’s Dairy Meets the Cow-Free Future

In a milestone move, the Israeli food-tech company Remilk and traditional dairy brand Gad Dairies have launched the world’s first commercially available cow-free dairy milk. Produced through precision fermentation, the new “milk 2.0” replicates the taste and nutritional profile of conventional dairy while being lactose-free, cholesterol-free and containing 75 % less sugar. Its retail rollout in Israel is slated for January 2026. The partnership signals a major shift in the dairy sector—moving from plant-based alternatives to lab-bred dairy proteins and heralding a future where traditional livestock farming may no longer be the norm.
