Restoration begins at historic Jewish cemetery with £190,000 Grant

The Balls Pond Road Cemetery, a historic Jewish burial ground in Islington, is undergoing a major restoration.

A £190,731 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund will fund repairs to headstones, improved public access, biodiversity research, and community engagement activities.

The initiative, led by Islington Council and the West London Synagogue, aims to preserve a vital part of the UK’s Reform Jewish heritage and make it a space for education and reflection.
